Recovery is about PROGRESSION not PERFECTION
How it works: After you first contact me or book online, we will agree on when to meet. This will be confidential, friendly and relaxed. You will have the opportunity to ask any questions; we will also start to plan how we will move forward with your goals or even explore what these goals might be.
Where: All our sessions will be online via Zoom or Teams. I will send you the link needed.
Areas we might cover
- Your Recovery Motivation.
- Relapse Prevention.
- Mindfulness.
- Identifying your triggers and coping skills.
- Building your resilience and navigating challenges.
- Managing your thoughts, feelings and behaviours.
- Expanding your support network.
- Developing your self worth and a positive identity.
- Challenging self stigmatisation.
- Planing and achieving goals to lead a balanced life.
Confidential addiction recovery coaching
Your privacy matters. Sessions are one to one, confidential, and delivered online so you can get support from home. We’ll agree clear boundaries from the start, and you’ll always know what to expect.
Code of ethics, accreditation & professionalism
Recovery support should be safe, ethical, and professional. I follow the Addiction Professionals code of ethics, and you can take reassurance from my membership there. That means working with clear boundaries, confidentiality, informed consent, and your wellbeing at the centre of the work.
I’m also committed to ongoing supervision and continuing professional development (CPD) so the support you receive stays current, evidence based, and accountable.
Qualified addiction recovery coach
You’ll be supported by a trained professional with both lived experience and a strong practice background. I bring 14+ years’ experience in one to one work and group facilitation, an MSc in the field of occupational therapy, and ongoing CPD focused on addiction recovery.
Assurance through trusted organisations
When you’re choosing recovery support, it’s worth looking for credentials, accreditation, and professional membership not just personal stories or bold claims. Be wary of anyone offering an “enlightened” approach that only they understand, can’t be explained clearly, or can’t be checked.
You can also look for reassurance through trusted platforms and organisations. Being listed on established directories such as Welldoing.org, Harley Therapy, and Psychology Today can provide additional confidence around professionalism and standards.
Evidence based, secular recovery coaching (SMART + OT + behaviour science)
My approach is practical and evidence based, drawing on SMART Recovery, occupational therapy (OT), and established addiction behaviour science. We’ll work on managing urges, changing unhelpful thinking (CBT/REBT style tools), and building a balanced life beyond addiction so you leave each session with clear actions you can use immediately.
This is a secular approach (not 12 step). You’re welcome whether you have religious beliefs, no beliefs, or you’re not sure what you believe.
A key advantage of the SMART model is that you can strengthen your recovery outside our sessions too. You can attend SMART meetings, and there are free online resources available, including a handbook.
My job isn’t to keep you as a client. It’s to help you build a strong, sustainable recovery so you can move on with your life.
